Years ago, Trista Sutter appeared on the first season of The Bachelor and, as runner-up, became the first Bachelorette, where she met and married Ryan. In her new book, Happily Ever After, she describes the heartache she felt at being the runner-up, but the joy she felt when she and Ryan ended up together and started a family. It wasn't always easy for them, and she's open and honest about struggles she's faced along the way. Through it all, though, she's tried to be grateful, and that attitude has helped her greatly.
The book is very enjoyable to read. It includes stories form her own life, but also from others, to give you a wider perspective. Each chapter focuses on a different aspect - kids, family, friends, etc - and includes "happily ever actions" that only take a few minutes but help create a habit out of being grateful. The end of the book also includes some great resources and websites to help encourage you to have a positive, thankful attitude as well. It was a great book to read, and it's not very long, but has a lot of really good tips.
