Are you a "SuperGal?" According to Lori Hinson, author of a new book SuperGal vs. God, a SuperGal is a non-fictional hero having extraordinary or at least really high-functioning abilities to run her own life and the lives of those around her. Most women are, to some extent, SuperGals - trying to manage families, careers/volunteering, relationships, activities, and more. We often find it difficult to delegate, and hard to "let go and let God."
SuperGal vs. God is a mix of memoir, fiction, and love story, written with humor and the vision of someone looking back at how God worked on her life, through three decades of trying to keep it together, until finally running into problems she couldn't fix. The "fiction" part comes in when she imagines how God was feeling at certain points in her life, and is woven into the story in such a way that it really helps add to the image of God as personal and all-knowing, being able to see the Plan and pulling us into it even if we have other ideas.
I could see a lot of myself in this book. It was a great reminder to back off sometimes, and let things go according to The Plan, not my plan.
