Bringing
a child into the world is one of life’s most exciting moments – but it
can also be scary. The future is uncertain, but there’s a lot of
possibility to build a bright future for the next generation.
Today, on Universal Children’s Day, Unilever is launching a new initiative, Unilever Project Sunlight, an initiative aimed at inspiring people to see the possibilities of a
world where everyone lives well and within the natural limits
of the planet.
To
demonstrate the possibilities for a brighter future, Unilever
commissioned a study among parents and children around the world, which
shows that children are key to motivating
adults to want to adopt more sustainable lifestyles and a powerful
influence on parents changing their behavior. Other highlights of our
research include:
·
Nine out of 10 parents say children’s natural optimism and enthusiasm inspires them to make the world a better place;
·
Seven out of 10 parents say their main motivation for wanting to live in a greener way is their children’s future; and
·
88% of parents and 86% of children agree that if
everyone does small things to improve the environment, together we can
make the world a better place.
You readers can join parents across the country by answering the question,
“What inspires you to hope for a #brightfuture for tomorrow?”
