Consumer Critique: Jamaroos Musical ABCs app

Disclosure: I received complimentary products as a thank you for this post. All opinions are my own.

The brand-new Jamaroos Musical ABCs app, developed by Iggy Learning, helps preschoolers get “in tune” with the fundamentals of reading through alphabet-based activities. Designed for children ages 2 to 6, Jamaroos Musical ABCs is now available on the App Store, Google Play and Kindle Fire for Android for a special introductory price of $1.99 – and coming soon on NOOK by Barnes & Noble.

My girls loved the combination of animations and music. My older daughter knows her alphabet and is reading fluently but still enjoyed playing it. My younger daughter knows her letters fairly accurately but also had fun playing with all the animal characters (there's one for each letter) and creating the sound effects. It's a fun app, and while it doesn't have a lot of educational value for those who know the alphabet already, it's still fun - and if you have a younger kid, it's a good way to keep them entertained while reinforcing early pre-literacy skills.
