When a movie stars Harry Connick, Jr. and Willie Nelson, you should expect there to be some musical elements. Angels Sing combines music with a heartfelt story about a boy who loved Christmas, then lost that love and has to rekindle it again in the face of his son's struggle. It's a Dove Family Approved movie for all ages, so you know it's going to be family-friendly. It's available in theaters, Amazon instant video, DVD, and Blu-Ray - plus, families that want to dig deeper can find Bible studies and sermons that tie in the values and morals in the movie.
Many Christmas movies are overly sappy, and some viewers might find this one too. I found it a nice story that I was happy to watch with my children. There wasn't anything that scared them, and while there were parts that made them sad (my daughter couldn't understand why anyone wouldn't like Christmas), they really enjoyed the movie overall. It was a great holiday season family activity.
