Parenting Pointers: Safety in the Dark

Disclosure: I received complimentary products as a thank you for this post. All opinions are my own.

In winter, it gets dark awfully early - sometimes even before kids get off the school bus. The walk home or to friends' houses after school can be dangerous if cars can't see the kids. To help keep your kids safe, encourage them to follow these tips.

  • Wear light or reflective clothing.
  • Always walk facing traffic if there's no sidewalk
  • Walk in groups, and double check for traffic before you cross the street

Another helpful solution is Uh Oh Bands which come in a glow-in-the-dark option to help increase visibility at night. The bands are ideal for including allergy information or a phone number in case the child is lost. They're made of waterproof silicone so they're easy to put on, durable, and safe.
