I've never been to a boat show before, so I'm excited to go to the Minneapolis Boat Show at the Convention Center later this month. It runs from Thursday, January 30th through Sunday, February 2nd. It's a great place to learn about a variety of different boating and water recreation activities. I think it would be great to try the SUP (stand-up paddling) demo that they have on-site (wet suits available). They also have a boardwalk with games for kids, and what I think will be my daughter's favorite activity: the option to donate to Children's Hospitals and build a boat that you can sail right there. You'll also be able to see the Geico racing boat, meet Dora on Saturday and Sunday, and view historic antique and classic boats.
If you're interested in purchasing a sailing craft, you can visit with vendors and ask questions right there from a variety of different brands. If you own a boat, you can visit seminars to learn about maintenance, upkeep, and light repairs. The site even has a page of great eco-friendly boating tips. You can also enter to win some great contests.
I have a chance to give away two sets of four tickets each, so if you're interested in bringing your family to the show, leave a comment with your favorite water recreation activity. Deadline is January 10th.
