Keeping Babies Safe, a national non-profit
organization, dedicated to crib safety has announced a new charitable
partnership with Go Mama Go Designs.
Keeping Babies Safe, through its "Be Smart About Safe Sleep"™
campaign, educates hospitals, health care personnel, doctors, retailers
and manufacturers by disseminating the latest crib and sleep safety
information so that parents, grandparents, and other caregivers are
properly educated on crib safety before they purchase nursery products.
Davis,
who lost a son due to the use of a supplemental mattress that was
advertised as suitable and safe for her portable crib, co-founded
Keeping Babies Safe in 2006. Since that time the
organization has been working with corporate, foundation, and individual
donors to fund a multi-tiered campaign that includes:
- distributing "Safe Sleep (Environments) for Babies" educational videos and written materials in (English and Spanish) to parents;
- educating hospital personnel on safe crib and sleep practices, to pass this information directly to their patients;
- offering safe cribs to parents from economically-challenged environments throughout our partnered hospitals and clinics nationwide.
Since
inception, Keeping Babies Safe has donated more than 8000 cribs, and
tens of thousands of educational materials to hospitals, and health and
human service agencies across the country. Keeping Babies Safe looks
forward to expanding these efforts, in part through charitable sponsors
in its "Be Smart About Safe Sleep"™ programs with organizations such as Go Mama Go Designs.
