Invest Early Labs and W.K. Kellogg Foundation are inviting parents to join in a conversation about the first 5 years of a child’s life. In The Baby Steps Competition, they're asking parents, families, caregivers and educators nationwide to
answer one question: “This is what I do with my child, what do you do
with yours?” and rewarding participants with up to $7,500 in prizes.
To do this, they're asking for video submissions that
capture snapshots of how you care for children in the first five years
of their lives. This could be simple and everyday things you do with
your child or extra special creative things you do to inspire your
children, whether it’s reading, playing, singing or coloring.
The focus here is bringing the discussion of early childhood education down from the ivory towers and Nobel laureates to the dinner table, where the daily decisions on care and education are made. They want to help people understand that high-quality early childhood
education is one of the most valuable investments parents and
society-at-large can make in a child’s life. To provide incentives for those who help get this important conversation going, they're offering some great prizes.
See the full list of prizes and get your video submission in today on the website HERE. Deadline is February 18, 2014.
