Sainthood Herbs is committed to helping people reduce their risk for kidney disease through education and promotion of National Kidney Month and would like to share five tips to reduce the risk of CKD.
-
Have your blood pressure checked – If your blood
pressure is higher than it should be, your physician may suggest dietary
changes such as lowering salt intake. They may also prescribe a
medication that can help regulate it.
-
Know your family history – Those with family members impacted by kidney disease are at a higher risk for developing it themselves. Know your family health history. If it’s in your genes, you can start taking preventative measures at an early age.
-
Lose weight – Being overweight increases your risk for developing kidney disease. Reducing your body mass index (BMI) is one way to lower your risk of kidney disease.
-
Quit smoking – If you smoke, the sooner you quit, the sooner you reduce your risk for kidney disease – and a host of other health issues. There are many smoking-cessation programs available. Do a little online research and find one that will work for you.
-
Increase amount of physical activity – Exercising not only helps reduce your risk for kidney disease, but it will also help you maintain a healthy weight and positively impact your overall health. Check with your doctor before undertaking any new exercise regimen.
“Solution Series: Blood Glucose and Heart & LDL” – These two products are designed to offer support or relief of discomforts associated with kidney disease. These herbal supplements address conditions related to kidney disease such as blood glucose and heart and LDL health.
