Healthy Habits: No Personal Trainer Required

Brought to you by GreenPal
Have you considered the health benefits of household chores?  Most people do not realize their fitness goals that can be reached by tackling the chores on your “to do” list.

Consider and plan your workout around what needs to be done in the day. Taking the opportunity to tone and strengthen while multitasking will vary the routine and keep you in a balanced state physically.

Many common projects such as raking, shoveling rock, and painting will engage the entire body while keep your core strong and guard against heart disease.  All of this is possible without a personal trainer and no membership fees.

Mowing a yard approximately ⅓ of an acre is the equivalent of walking 2 miles and you lawn will look great. Have you been paying the neighbor kids to mow and rake your yard?  You can burn 400 calories an hour and pocket the 30 bucks.

Be creative in reaching your goals.  Is it time to hang those storm windows?  You will be working your arms, abdominals, back and legs; burning 272 calories an hour all while standing on a ladder.

It is a time saving simple way of staying fit.  You have everything you need at your disposal to get a quick and complete work out.  No need to try and fit in time to get to the gym.

Pulling out old carpet is hard work with all the tugging and pulling, rolling up, and hauling it off. You will be burning 238 calories and the value of doing the job yourself is priceless.

A lot of people say they have no time to exercise. It is an easy task to incorporate physical fitness into your daily routine utilizing household chores. With some planning you can create a full day of cardio and strength training while adding to your general flexibility.

There is no time like the present to get busy and burn those calories.
