Consumer Critique: Hotelles

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

Normally I don't read erotic fiction by choice, but when offered a book to review, I figure it's worth a shot. HOTELLES by Emma Mars is a story of sexual awakening and transformation. It's the first in a trilogy of suspenseful, erotic novels following a young French escort, Elle, who accepts her very last assignment before her dream marriage, only to discover that her final client is her future husband’s brother.  He forces her into a series of visits to the mysterious Hotel des Charmes, where she receives her sexual education a la francaise

The book starts out with a definite tone of suspense and tension, which kept me reading to see how situations would get resolved. There's an element of humor and rawness to the book, and Elle is a character who is developed enough to be believable, yet still manages to be the kind of person I think most women will see elements of themselves in. Clearly it's not for people who would be offended by the idea of erotic fiction, and it's also helpful to note that the author is from France, so the narrative style might be different than some typical American romantic novels.
