Consumer Critique: Paris at the End of the World

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

I am fascinated by reading books that are set in other time periods. I don't particularly care for history books that read like a textbook, but I love historical fiction and really love books that portray other time periods and are fact, but have a more novel-like tone.

Paris at the End of the World takes an in-depth look at Paris during World War I. The author, John Baxter, uses his grandfather's diaries to reconstruct what the war was like for him, and for those living in Paris. It's actually not just about Paris, but also about Archie Baxter, and Australian who served during WWI. It's interesting to note what was still going on in the arts and entertainment scene, despite the threat of battle.
