Healthy Habits: Food and Environmental Allergies

Did you know that what you eat can help alleviate symptoms of environmental allergies or make them worse? For example, stone fruits (apricots, cherries, nectarines, peaches, plums) can make symptoms of pollen allergies worse. The following nutrients can help:

Quercetin (found in grapes, red onions, radish leaves, cranberries, lingonberries, blueberries, sweet potatoes, and others)
Vitamin C (found in oranges, red bell peppers, and many other fruits)
Omega-3 (found in fish, flaxseed, pasture-raised beef, wild rice, walnuts)
EGCG (found in green tea, as well as apples and blackberries)
