Most of us have some muscle ache or strain at one point or another. Often people are looking for a non-drug alternative to traditional pain medicines, and Omron has a solution - Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), which sounds scary, but actually isn't. It's designed to work by blocking the pain message to the brain and helping your body release its own endorphins, as well as improving blood circulation. The device has multiple settings for different types of pain, so it's appropriate for backaches, overworked shoulders, and more.
For me, I think the biggest way it works is just by providing something different for the nerves to latch on to except pain. It's not for use with chronic pain and doesn't treat the underlying cause of pain (so if you sprained your ankle it won't automatically heal it, but will help ease the ache so you can sleep at night). You can buy at Omron or at Amazon, CVS.com, Drugstore.com, Rite Aid, Target, Walgreens, and Walmart.
