Mealtime Magic: Refreshing Summer Cocktails


Sweet Hospitality Group is the concessionaire and caterers to Broadway and private clients nationwide, who've been adding their dramatic, delicious touch to theatres, parties and events for nearly 30 years. I have the opportunity to share their recipes for the Pretty Baby cocktail and the Earth Movin' Mojito.

Pretty Baby from Sweet Hospitality Group

2 oz Vodka
1 oz St Germain Liqueur
2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
2 oz Honey-Thyme Syrup*
Seltzer
  • Fill a 16oz glass with ice
  • Add all ingredients
  • Stir or flip to mix
**HONEY-THYME SYRUP
(1 quart batch)
½ bunch Fresh Thyme
2 cups Boiling Water (divided)
2 cups Honey
  • Bruise THYME and steep in 1 ½ cups BOILING WATER for 30 minutes
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove THYME
  • Add HONEY and additional ½ cup BOILING WATER and mix well until completely dissolved.
  • Let stand at room temperature until cooled then pour into storage/serving container.

Earth Movin' Mojito from Sweet Hospitality Group

2 Lime Wedges
4 Blackberries (plus additional for garnish)
2 Mint Sprigs (plus additional for garnish)
¾ oz Simple Syrup (or more to taste)
1.5 oz Light Rum
.5 oz Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
3 drops Brooklyn Hemispherical Strawberry Bitters
Seltzer

  • Place lime, blackberries, mint and simple syrup in a mixing glass and muddle well
  • Fill with ice and add rum, ginger liqueur and bitters
  • Shake well and strain into a 10 oz rocks glass filled with ice
  • Top with seltzer and garnish with blackberries and a mint sprig
