Parenting Pointers: Security Online

Recently the Heartbleed Bug was in the news, and Choose Privacy Week was at the beginning of May. It's a good time to remind yourself to take a look at what you share online. Different people have different personal boundaries - for me, I won't share specifics about vacation plans, my Social Security number, or any bank information online, because those carry high risk. I'm perfectly fine sharing some things that others don't, like pictures of my kids, or anything that's public information, because I consider that low-risk sharing.

Wherever you draw the line, make sure you do draw it somewhere. And if you are sharing information, be selective. You want to keep your family safe, online and offline.
