UNACCEPTABLE LEVELS,
an award-winner at the Yosemite, Filmambiente and Fife International Film Festivals,
examines the results of the chemical revolution of the 1940s through
the eyes of first-time filmmaker Ed Brown, a father seeking to
understand the world in which he and his wife are raising their
children.
The film features interviews from a wide variety of personalities who are part of many environmental organizations, including The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, The Environmental Working Group, Natural Resources Defense Council, and more. For those who aren't aware of how widespread synthetic chemicals are, it's an eye-opening look at just how ingrained they are into our daily life. For some people, it's preaching to the choir; for others, it may be seen as alarmist. I think it's a very comprehensive look and very well done for a first-time filmmaker.
