If you are a talented artist looking to take your techniques with colored pencils from good to great, check out The New Colored Pencil by Kristy Ann Kutch. This book is not for the casual artist or the really professional artist, but for the in-between. Those who know enough to know they're good, but aren't absolute experts, will get the most out of this book (experts can probably still pick up a technique here or there, but I'm not a talented enough artist to know that for sure).
I actually used my dad for this book review; I'm a terrible artist but he's quite talented. His only complaint was that we'd gotten the pdf, which made it more challenging for him to use while he was drawing. Some of the techniques and suggestions were review for him (as an art major), and some were really good refreshers, but even he picked up a few new ideas. Check it out if you're looking to take your colored pencil sketches to the next level.
