Amazing Apps/Caring Causes: Winning Kick

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

Global Gaming Initiative just released their second game, Winning Kick. Half of game proceeds from the single-player soccer game will be donated to providing soccer balls to impoverished children across the developing world through its nonprofit partner Charity Ball. The game is available for $4.99 on iOS and Android devices.

Each GGI game raises awareness of one of the many barriers to education kids around the world face, as well as a way to make a real-life impact to overcome this obstacle. Every person who downloads the new game makes an immediate impact towards helping these kids receiving a tool for health and wellness, as well as something fun to help them learn about leadership, teamwork and skill-building.  Additionally, Winning Kick provides kids with soccer balls and soccer workshops, which not only builds self-esteem and promotes a healthy lifestyle, but also teaches important life lessons like teamwork, self-discipline, respect, and honesty.

Winning Kick is available in five languages and is a one-touch gameplay brought to life with a retro arcade aesthetic. Players start with 30 seconds left on the clock and have one objective: score as many goals as possible before the timer runs out. One of the cool features is the ability to challenge a friend.

The game is certainly nothing incredibly fancy - the animations are designed to be old school. But it's easy and addictive. It's also fun to play simple games like this against people you know. Since the games are only thirty seconds each, it's not a game where you'll get annoyed when you get interrupted. Plus, the charity aspect is really neat!
