What inspired you to enter the contest?
Our
other cat Cole was actually a category winner in 2012 the first
Friskies contest and we're always making video for Cole & Marmalade's YouTube channel so we thought we'd give it another shot this year with Marm, since we always follow the contest and vote on the videos,
because they're fun to watch AND we get to help feed shelter animals :)
Why do you think your entry was so successful?
I
think Marmalade is super cute to begin with! Plus just watching a cat
dumpster dive and then pop up every now and again like a jack in the
box was really funny, plus our video showed Cole's reaction to
Marmalade too ….and not many of the other videos had another cat in
them…. Also I timed a music track to his antics which made it more fun
to watch :)
What tips do you have for cat owners on keeping their pets healthy?
We
always take the boys for yearly check ups at the vet, even though we
are both good at observing them and making sure they're eating well,
acting normal and everything feels and looks fine. A veterinarian is
obviously more skilled in that department and can really make sure your
cat is in good health and can spot things that the regular person
cannot.
I
also think enriching their
lives is very important, we always switch things up in their
environment, new boxes, new hiding spots, new things to play with, make
sure we spend time with them playing actively, etc...
What are your favorite things to do with your cat?
Probably
my favorite things is to just relax on the couch watching a good movie
with Cole and Marmalade snuggled up next to me on the couch, instant
stress relief! :)
