Shopping Savings: Shopping to Maximize Savings

I have some tips to share from Coupons.com Savings Expert Jeanette Pavini:

1) Don’t Clog Your Inbox! Set up a separate email account for coupons, offers and newsletters.
2) Peruse Before You Checkout. If you’re shopping online, be sure to check sites like Coupons.com for relevant coupon codes to combine online savings with additional discounts.
3) To the Left, to The Left.
“Budget busters” are frequently placed at the right side of the store as most shoppers head that way first. Avoid the trap by heading left before you begin shopping.
4 Take Advantage of Social Media.
‘Like’ your favorites brands’ Facebook pages and follow them on Twitter. You’d be surprised how many offer special coupons, discounts and deals.
5) Pay with Cash! This is the best way to ensure you buy what you need, stick to a budget and don’t overspend.

6)Do Your Research! Coupons aren’t just for groceries anymore! Coupons and coupon codes are available to consumers on just about everything. Card Linked Offers from Coupons.com allows you to link your credit card to your Coupons.com account. This way you instantly save money every time you swipe your card at participating stores. Also very handy to have if you tend to forget your coupons at home!
7) Raincheck, please! Did you know you could ask for a raincheck if the item you want is out of stock? This will allow you to get the item at the sale price when it's back in stock. Add a coupon on top of that for more savings.
8) Circulars Are Your Friends. When it comes to grocery shopping, build your menu around what is on sale and find coupons to match those items to other items on your list. On average, you can save up to 40% on your bill.

If you're looking for something to do with your kids as the weather gets colder, here are some great crafting coupons:
