Consumer Critiqu: No More Excuses Diet

The No More Excuses Diet by Maria Kang promises "3 days to bust any excuse, 3 weeks to easy new eating habits, 3 months to total transformation." Obviously, your mileage may vary depending on your current fitness level and goals, but this is a very practical book. The workouts in the middle were the most helpful for me - they gave me a way to change things up, yet the moves go gradually up from the first workout to the last in terms of intensity. Very little equipment is needed, although basic equipment is recommended (the workouts indicate the use of some things like dumbbells but the moves can be done without them). The arguments for excuses were also very well-written, not condescending but very straightforward.

Maria Kang is a health advocate who believes that health begins with choice. Maria is the founder of the Fitness without Borders, as well as the No Excuse Mom movement, an organization of thousands of women around the country making a commitment to their health one day at a time. Maria lives in California with her husband and three children.
