School is pretty much done for students across the country, with the exception of some areas still taking final exams. These exams can make a big difference in class grades, which affects GPA and class rank.
"Parents
need to be a part of the cure if their child is academically falling
behind in school," says Barbara Dianis, education specialist, ADD/ADHD
academic coach, speaker and author of Grade Transformer for the Modern Student: Early High School Edition.
"When students are earning low or below average grades, they often are
unsure and unclear how to transform their grades and raise their GPAs.
Luckily, there are quick tips that can help any student turn into an
academic winner and a scholastic achiever."
I had a chance to read Grade Transformer, and it was full of practical tips to help boost GPA and academic success for students of all types. With advice that is easy to implement, it's a great summer read for any parents of struggling students. As a teacher, I often look for ways to encourage my students to improve study habits so that they can do better, not just in my class, but in all classes, and this book has things that apply to general academic skills, not just one subject.
