Wouldn’t
it be nice if babies came with an instruction manual? Unfortunately,
they don’t. From the day a baby decides
to come into this world, a mom’s life revolves around baby’s
developmental milestones. It can be difficult to predict when or where
these milestones will take place, so making sure that both mom and the
home are prepared ahead of time for all of these moments
can help put mom at ease. Whether it’s crawling at 9 months, pulling
up at 12 months, walking at 18 months or running at 2 years, mom can
focus on enjoying the moment.
How can new parents be ahead of their baby’s “next steps,” by knowing what to expect and how to prepare?
I had a chance to interview pediatrician Dr. Alanna Levine regarding baby’s key developmental stages,
places in the home where babies explore during each new stage and
what experts, such as the American Academy
of Pediatrics, suggest to help make sure those places are healthy and
germ-free. She also shared information regarding valuable resources
such as the free Healthy Start Clinic, a program sponsored by:
·
Lysol, an RB brand and #1 pediatrician recommended brand
·
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
·
National Association of Pediatric Nurses (NAPNAP)
·
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The
program provides parents with educational resources and quality face
time with pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners about
developmental milestones and hygiene
education to help parents keep their children healthy.
