Fun Freetime: Disaster Dash (MN)

There's a brand-new educational race coming to Corcoran on September 19, and to offer you custom content or interviews. Disaster Dash 2015 will test your grit in the face of disaster. All proceeds go to Headwaters Relief Organization, a local nonprofit providing disaster relief including mental health support for victims.

This one-of-a-kind race will test your physical and mental prowess in disaster relief and recovery. It’s a challenging and eye-opening way to learn about disaster prevention and what it takes to recover if disaster strikes. This event would be fantastic for area families because:

•             It will help you prepare your family and your home for disasters
•             Runners will enjoy the physical challenge of a race plus six disaster recovery obstacles
•             Presentations from emergency responders and the canines from the MN Search and Rescue Dog Association will add even more educational value
•             After the race there will be a fun party with free food and music the whole family can enjoy

The Disaster Dash 2015 offers competitors real-world experience, guided by experts in disaster relief and recovery, in responding to a natural disaster. Competitors will compete individually or in teams over a two-mile course that features obstacles like tearing down drywall, carrying sandbags, dumpster diving and more.
