If you've seen Nickelodeon's Wallykazam! or Welcome to the Wayne, you've heard music by composer/performers Andrew & Polly. They'll soon release their second album, Odds & Ends. They received the prestigious ASCAP Foundation Joe Raposo Children's Music Award for the song 'When You're A Dog' from their debut children's album, Up and At 'Em!
As artists, they strive to make connections with their audience, singing in small-scale performances, and describe Odds & Ends as, "a little bit like our lives after having our first kid -- haphazard, hair-brained, and absolutely full of love."
The songs have sweet themes, sometimes nonsensical, which just adds to the childlike whimsy. They use a variety of instruments, including incorporating the voices of their fans in the song "Ghostbusters."
Also worth checking out is Ear Snacks, a podcast by and for kids (you can check it out on their website). Their first episode is about fruit, with extra activities also available on their blog.
Odds & Ends will be available at CDbaby, iTunes, and at Andrew & Polly's shows.
