Straight from the minds and hearts of
Bert and John Jacobs -- brothers and founders of optimistic lifestyle
brand Life is Good -- comes Life is Good: The Book. I was sent a copy of the book to preview, and it is an inspiring read. The company's apparel stands for optimism, and this book takes a look at their journey to creating a successful business. Along the way, they had to overcome obstacles, deal with rejection, take opportunities as they came, and work to live the best life possible.
The book also
touches on the 10 "superpowers" that are accessible to all human beings:
openness, courage, simplicity, humor, gratitude, fun, compassion,
creativity, authenticity and love. These are things that a lot of people overlook, especially simplicity and gratitude - both very important as we move into the Thanksgiving season.
As
a company, Life is Good grew its roots in the back of used van in early
90s. Driving up and down the East Coast, the Jacobs' brothers were
committed to selling apparel and growing their business despite many
bumps in the road. The brothers have grown Life is Good into a $100
million lifestyle brand that's dedicated to spreading the power of
optimism -- and Life is Good: The Book tells that story.
