The new book, which I got to review, Spending the Holidays with People I Want to Punch in the Throat, covers a variety of holidays, including, of course, big ones like Christmas, but also lesser-celebrated ones (at least in this country) like Chinese New Year. My favorite chapter was, in fact, the one that included the list of reasons "why you aren't invited to our Chinese New Years Party." The essays are funny, no-holds-barred, and have the exactly same tone as the title. If you aren't a fan of certain words, you won't want to read this, but if you want to read a book that helps you commiserate about those terrible guests, this is a good one - for this time of year or any time!

Book Nook: Spending the Holidays with People I Want to Punch in the Throat
Jen Mann is best known as the writer behind the popular blog,
People I Want to Punch in the Throat, and she wrote a follow up to her
NYT bestselling debut collection of no-filter, bitingly humorous
essays about those moments where you just want to punch someone in the
throat.
