Caring Causes: National Bathe To Save Tour Hits The Road to Make Sure Every Dog Has Its Day

When 11 year-old Austin Amos found out that 1.2 million dogs are killed in U.S. animal shelters each year, and only one out of every 10 dogs ever finds a permanent home, he was sad and wanted to do something about it. He talked to his dad, Anthony, the founder of HydroDog, a mobile pet grooming company, and the two of them, along with his two sisters and mother, created the Bathe to Save Tour to wash dogs and raise awareness for man’s best friend.

The Bathe to Save Tour is now on the road and traveling the country for the next 18 months and will visit all 50 states, 150+ cities and wash 25,000+ dogs with the goal of raising $1M that will be donated to animal rescue groups and organizations throughout the country.

“We purchased and moved into a 40ft motor coach and will be travelling the country to make a difference in the lives of our four-legged friends,” Anthony Amos, founder of the Bathe to Save Tour, said.  “No dogs or any other animals should be in shelters. We believe they can all be saved.”

Bubbles, the mobile pet grooming unit shaped like a giant blue dog, is being towed by the Amos family’s 40 ft. motor home that’s wrapped in the Bathe to Save logo and other corporate sponsors. Bubbles was adopted out to the Bathe to Save tour by HydroDog Mobile Pet Grooming. Other sponsors of the tour include John Paul Pet, founded by John Paul DeJoria who is the co-founder of the Paul Mitchell line of hair products, and Riley's Organic Dog Treats. Celebrity endorsements include  Harrison Forbes, celebrity pet expert; and Kevin Harrington from the hit television show Shark Tank

“I’m very proud to be part of this outstanding project that will be washing dogs and holding events to raise money and awareness for animal rescues around the country,” Harrington said. “I encourage everyone to join this awesome Aussie family in saving as many rescue dogs as possible.”

The Bathe to Save Tour will be on the road through the middle of 2017, and all proceeds are donated to animal rescue organizations.
