Enriching Education: Guthrie Summer Camps

The Guthrie offers a perfect summer camp opportunity to inspire young people through theater games, creative movement and engaging fun. With uniquely gifted instructors and a wide range of offerings, Summer Camps at the Guthrie are an ideal way to spend a week igniting passion for theater in young people grades 3-12. Weeklong camps begin June 13 and continue through July 29. All levels are welcome. Complete camp information including schedules, teaching artists’ bios and registration information is available at http://www.guthrietheater.org/education/camps/summer_camps.
Summer Camps at the Guthrie offer a wide range of performing opportunities for children and teens, including acting, musical theater, Shakespeare and comedy. Back by popular demand is the Totally Technical camp, where teens can learn the tricks of the trade in the world behind the stage.

Guthrie camps are taught by an impressive roster of teaching artists led by Mark Rosenwinkel. Rosenwinkel’s professional acting career spans nearly three decades and includes work at most major Twin Cities theaters, including the Guthrie. Other teaching artists include performers with local and national credentials in areas including character acting, vocal performance, sketch and standup comedy, stage combat, choreography, European-style clowning, dialects and more. Guthrie 2016 summer camp teaching artists are Betsy Benjamin, Shanan Custer, Laura Esping, Jon Ferguson, Michelle O'Neill, Aaron Preusse, Jan Puffer, Mark Rosenwinkel, Eric Webster, Adia Morris and Jim Gangl.
