Nina Stone (a.k.a. Miss Nina) two-time Parents Choice® Award-winner, will soon release her third album for kids and families -- and the first album Miss Nina has made with her band, The Jumping Jacks -- Every Day's Your Birthday.
I had a chance to review the album, which has a positive spirit - its emphasis is on having a good attitude to make every day a great day. It's got a very classic sound, with influences from the '60s, '70s, and '80s. This great, nostalgic sound, combined with kid-friendly lyrics, make it a good choice for the whole family.
The past four years have witnessed the phenomenal growth of a large and devoted following for the videos that Miss Nina regularly posts on her website and YouTube channel. Boasting more than 8,000 YouTube subscribers, The Miss Nina Weekly Video Show features Nina Stone
with her trademark cotton candy pink Daisy rock acoustic electric
guitar, performing sing-along, move-along songs for the early childhood
set. Several of Miss Nina's videos have received more than 350,000 views on YouTube.
Before her debut as "Miss Nina," Nina Stone
could be found dancing everywhere and anywhere people would let her.
Nina earned a B.S. in Dance Management and spent several years dancing
nationally and internationally in professional musical theater
productions before embarking on a course of graduate studies in
Educational Theater at New York University. After receiving her M.A.
from NYU, Nina helped develop the curriculum for the Small Wonder
program in the Early Childhood Division of The Dwight School in
Manhattan, where she taught for seven years. When not recording and
touring with The Jumping Jacks, Nina is a Music for Aardvarks teacher in Maplewood and Montclair, New Jersey.
Previous albums by Miss Nina include Sha Doo Be Doop (2013) and Singing and Dancing Together (2009).
Every Day's Your Birthday will be available on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon, and mymissnina.com.
