Families
are on the move this week with a long weekend thanks to the annual
Education Minnesota Conference. Minneapolis–St. Paul International
Airport is “going wild” in celebration of the travel surge that will
bring more children into the terminal.
The airport will host the Minnesota Zoo’s
Zoomobile on Concourse D, Tuesday, October 18 and Friday, October 21
from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Zoo trainers will present a variety of
animals including small mammals, reptiles, invertebrates and raptors.
Face painters will set up
stations in the Airport Mall and outside the Children’s Play Area on
Concourse C, offering free animal-themed face painting to children.
Children may also receive a free bag of Snackimals™ organic animal
cookies from the Information booths located throughout the terminal.
Travelers of all ages can
enjoy several new shops and restaurants that have opened this fall,
including: iStore (Airport Mall), Swarovski (Airport Mall), North Loop
Market (Airport Mall), Duty Free (Concourse D), and Republic (Concourse
D) where one can listen to live music, courtesy of McNally Smith College
of Music.
Given the uptick in
travel this week, all travelers are advised to arrive at least two hours
prior to their flights. Save up to $10 a day by parking in the Quick Ride Ramp at Terminal 1, located off of Highway 5 at the Post Road exit.
