“It’s
not about the braid, it’s about the bond.” After years of watching
YouTube videos and eventually learning to style his daughter’s hair,
single father Phil Morgese from Daytona Beach, Florida, decided to share
his expertise with his fellow hair-challenged Y-chromosomed brethren.
The resulting workshop, the Daddy Daughter Hair Factory, isn’t
just about teaching dads to create the perfect ponytail or beautiful
braid; it’s about the evolution of traditional parental and gender roles
and finding the opportunity to bond with your child.
More
than 300 men have attended 34 free classes hosted by the Factory, and
inspired dads are sharing their skills at additional workshops in the
southeast.
