Healthy Habits: What Women Think in the Stirrups

Does your mind wander during your gyno exam? I had a chance to post this interview about what women tend to think about during that time.






AIMEE CHISM HOLLAND BIO:
Dr. Aimee Chism Holland is an assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. She is a women’s health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. Her practice initiatives focus on providing women’s health and primary care services to students at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Student Health & Wellness Clinic. Dr. Holland’s expertise in women’s health is utilized performing gynecology procedures, reproductive life planning counseling, and primary care services in the college health setting. Her faculty practice is the primary platform for her scholarly work. Her scholarship and research interests focus on gynecological cancer prevention, menstrual disorders, and office gynecology procedures. She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) and was recently elected to the Chair-elect position. She also serves on the advisory board for Hologic and on the speaker’s bureau for Merck.
