Parenting Pointers: Baby Sleep Tips

Baby Coach Suzy Giordan’s and Lisa Abidin’s two bestselling books are back with a whole new look and a little extra love. 1.      Why is it so important to promote good sleeping habits in babies and toddlers?
                                   
Good sleep habits are best formed in the beginning, starting when the baby is about 6 weeks old.  Can you start sleep training your child at 6 months, 12 months, even 18 months of age? Certainly!  It is never too late.  But the earlier you train your child, the better, otherwise bad habits can form that are tough to break. It is like working with clay - the younger the baby is the easier it is to shape his or her sleeping habits.

2.      What's different between these books and other sleep solutions?

If you are continually exhausted and emotionally spent, you are more likely to give in and do whatever it takes to get your baby to quiet down. This in turn leads to bad habits that over time are very difficult to break.  We've all been there, whether it be driving around at 2am so your baby can fall asleep in a car seat or running the dryer for hours on end with the bassinet on top so your baby can stay sleeping. The more rested and alert you are, the easier it is to engage in purposeful parenting instead of accidental parenting.
