National Dessert Month ends today, and sometimes it can be tricky to have time to make a dessert completely from scratch. If you have to cook for GF friends or family members it can also be tricky to come up with an option that tastes like the original but is safe for them to eat.
I recently had a chance to try out crusts from Wholly Wholesome. These all natural ready-made desserts and crusts come in gluten-free options, and the pie shells safe on prep time.
One of my favorite pie recipes for this time of year is pumpkin cheesecake pie. Start with a pie shell. Then mix 8 oz softened cream cheese with a can of sweetened condensed milk. Stir in a can of pumpkin pie, 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice, and 3 eggs. Pour into the pie shell, and bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
To help celebrate National Dessert Month, you can also enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win Wholly Wholesome products! Check out their full product line up, which you can buy at Whole Foods, Meijer, Kroger, Fresh Thyme, and other retailers.
