Consumer Critique: Workman Calendars

I recently got a fun package for the upcoming new year from Workman - publisher of a wide variety of calendar formats. I got to see three different ones.

The Kitchen Companion has one page per week. It's magnetic, so you can put it right on the fridge if that's more convenient than the well. Each week has a handy kitchen tip as well, and lots of room to write out the weekly schedule. There's also a built-in grocery list. The layout and design make it a fairly neutral addition to a wide variety of kitchen decor styles.

It's never too early to start kids working on their own organizational skills. The Kid's Awesome Activity Calendar is a fun way to start doing that. It has a ton of features for kids - a reward chart, fun activities, a kid-friendly design appropriate for boys and girls, jokes, space to write activities, and even a pocket for storage.

My favorite of the bunch was Strong is the New Pretty. My girls share a room, and it's a challenge to find things that appeal to both of their very different tastes. This was enjoyable for both. With images of girls in action, being creative, fierce, and uniquely themselves, it encouraged them both to be who they want to be.

Workman publishes many more - page-a-day, monthly, planners, etc. With their huge subject line-up (animals, trivia, cartoons, and way too many to list) you are sure to find something that will appeal to you or anyone for whom you're trying to find a gift!
