Book Nook: Breathe Like a Bear - 30 Mindful Moments for Kids to Feel Calm and Focused Anytime, Anywhere

I recently had a chance to review Breathe Like a Bear - 30 Mindful Moments for Kids to Feel Calm and Focused Anytime, Anywhere. This was a really unique book, and one that I'll probably use not only for my kids but also for my classroom.

The book contains 30 mini-meditations, and each one only takes a minute or two - great for little kids' attention spans. It would be pretty easy for a parent or teacher to expand on the meditation, or let it go a little longer, if a longer break is desired. The illustrations are gorgeous, with cartoon images of animals and nature. They're based around things kids know and like - hot chocolate, breathing, flowers, and more. They're also divided into several sections, like calm, focus, imagine - but any of them could be used at any time and use guided imagery to help kids focus.

It's a great book for parents or teachers who want to incorporate a few minutes of calm into the day.
