Book Nook: Personal Finance in Your 20s & 30s For Dummies®

My daughter, who recently turned 10, has been intrigued by the idea of living by herself someday. It's an exciting prospect, but comes with a lot of responsibilities as well. Most people know they should be doing something to save for retirement, but a lot of people don't know much beyond that. I had a chance to review a book by financial expert and best-selling author Eric Tyson's —Personal Finance in Your 20s & 30s For Dummies® (Wiley, November 2017, ISBN: 978-1-119-43141-1, $19.99). This book discusses key financial moves - establishing savings, paying off debt, and making smart investment decisions. Using the power of time is a huge advantage for people in their 20s and 30s, even without a lot of extra income.

Other topics include budgeting, credit scores, renting vs. buying, money in relationships, career moves, and more. They help young adults and others just becoming independent to set a strong foundation for lifelong financial security.
