STEAM-learning – the transition to STEM + the Arts – prepares students for school and life through a holistic approach to learning. The addition of the Arts rounds out the curriculum and connects different areas of cognitive development together.
To Recognize Week of the Young Child, an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) running April 16-20, Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college with eight campuses in Minnesota, is sharing four “how-to” videos to help parents and educators introduce STEAM concepts to their youngest learners.
- Building a guitar out of recycled materials
- Painting using magnets
- Engineering a weather tool
- Constructing a structure to hold pennies
