Los Angeles, CA’s Best Coast − comprised of singer/guitarist Bethany Cosentino and guitarist Bobb Bruno − released their first-ever children’s record, entitled Best Kids, as an Amazon Original on June 22, 2018. A mix of original songs, covers by the likes of Lesley Gore and Franki Valli and the Four Seasons, and time-worn favorites like “If You’re Happy And You Know It” (feat. special guest Lili Hayes) and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” Best Kids takes all of the band’s signature sounds − fuzzy guitars, sun-kissed melodies, and sky-high harmonies − and makes them kid-sized for the whole family. The album’s first song, “Cats and Dogs,” a song about universal love, may be heard starting today at www.amazon.com/bestcoast.
In addition to songs old and new, the band re-recorded their song “When I’m With You” -- from their acclaimed debut Crazy For You -- as a child-friendly version for Best Kids. “A few weeks prior to starting the album, we played that song at an event for the LA non-profit GIRLSCHOOL, a music festival whose mission is to celebrate, connect, and lift women-identified artists, leaders, and voices. The girls who sang with us at the festival also came to the studio to record that song with us, which gave it a whole new direction,” Cosentino explains.
She continues, “The world is pretty wild these days and we just hope this record and these songs will bring joy and a smile to some faces that might need joy and smiles, no matter how old they are.”
Hundreds of exclusive songs and numerous albums have been released asAmazon Originals, featuring both emerging and established artists spanning diverse genres including pop, indie, country, Americana, roots, blues, alt-rock, family and more.
Best Kids is available to stream and purchase exclusively on Amazon Music.
I have a chance to give away a copy of the album. If you're interested leave a comment with what you love about children's music. Deadline is July 10th.
