“Peg + Cat: The Eid al-Adha Adventure,” a brand-new picture book based on the multiple Emmy-winning series on PBS KIDS, is now available and we’d love to work with you to celebrate the upcoming holiday with a review or book giveaway!
In the new book, Peg and Cat are invited to Yasmina and Amir’s celebration of a very special holiday, Eid al-Adha. Amir explains that dividing meat into three equal parts and sharing one third with someone less fortunate, is an important holiday tradition. But, Peg and Cat discover a REALLY BIG PROBLEM when they realize all three bowls hold different amounts of meat. It’ll take a balancing scale, a trip to a soup kitchen, and an unexpected visit to a neighbor to solve the problem!
Eid al-Adha falls on August 20 this year, so it's a great time to learn more about the upcoming holiday and get in on the problem-solving fun with Peg and Cat!
There’s a great book-based activity sheet, which can help kids understand the holiday and what it's about.
I have a chance to give away a book - to enter, leave a comment with why you would want your kid to have it!
Peg + Cat is co-created by Jennifer Oxley (Little Bill, The Wonder Pets!) and Billy Aronson (Rent, Postcards from Buster) and produced by Fred Rogers Productions. In addition to its six Daytime Emmy® wins, including “Outstanding Preschool Children’s Animated Program” and “Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program,” the series has been honored with four Parents’ Choice Gold Awards.
