Just in time for the new school year, husband-wife team Andrew and Michele Wilkoff have launched Screen Coin, a product they designed to help parents and kids manage time spent on electronic devices.
Screen Coin sets, available at www.getscreencoin.com and
at retailers, include a set of colored coins, currency container and accompanying contract for parents to use to start a conversation with their children about their screen time. Under the system, children exchange coins for time on devices, working to earn new screen time once coins run out.
The Wilkoffs developed Screen Coin in response to their own struggles to manage the screen time of their children, ages 6 and 10. Inspired to develop a system of currency that would teach kids lessons about time management, priorities and money, they created their coins on a 3D printer. And when they introduced them to their kids, they found the lessons worked.
Each Screen Coin set contains six coins, one tray and access to a parent\kid contract builder. The system is designed for children six years of age and older.
Screen Coin sets retail for $14.99 each – with special launch pricing of $9.99. More information about Screen Coin is available at www.getscreencoin.com, including a Parent Support Blog edited by Michelle. Use code motherhoodmoment for 10% off your purchase.
