Area Attractions: Science Museum of MN - Illuminations

On two more weekends this December — Dec. 13-15, Dec. 20-22 and Dec. 27-29 from 5-9 p.m. — the Science Museum of Minnesota will be hosting its second installment of Illumination: Light Up The Night, an interactive showcase of activities and events for friends, family and coworkers embracing the celebration of light during the Winter Solstice. Activities throughout the museum include:

• Make your own glow-in-the-dark slime, or lantern
• Create and release snowflakes in a life-sized globe
• Experiment with an LED zipline and glowing parachute drop
• Take Instagram photos along the Northern Lights Wall
• Laser light shows, games and more!

BlackStack Brewing will also have the limited edition “Night Light” blonde stout on tap, exclusive to the event, along with glowing cocktails and specialty menu items at the cafe.
