Every once in a while I get a pitch for a book that is written on a topic I had no idea actually had a book, don't really think about, and don't think could be all the interesting - but I'm still intrigued enough to try it out. That's exactly what happened with How the Internet Happened: From Netscape to the iPhone.
I didn't really think the history of the internet could actually be interesting. This book did a good job of being a very comprehensive history without being boring. The most intriguing part to me was the relationship between the different companies that were involved with different technologies, whether it was competitive or collaborative, and how companies traded being in the forefront of different arenas (for example, the rise and fall of Netscape and AOL).
