Healthy Habits: Myth Busting Birth Control and Women’s Health

Women have more options than ever when it comes to one of the most important aspects of their lives: reproductive health and family planning. There have been many advances in women’s health in the past 60 years, from the creation of the first oral contraceptive, to increased prevalence of long-acting, reversible contraception (LARC), like IUDs.

However, a new survey shows that many women don’t know all the different birth control methods that are available to them. In fact, 38% of women are only aware of five or fewer birth control methods of the existing 18 approved by the FDA. How can women make the best decisions for their health when they aren’t armed with knowledge about all the options?

Jessica Grossman, CEO of Medicines360, a trained OB/GYN and an expert on women’s health, sets the record straight. Dr. Jessica Grossman has dedicated her career to women’s health and building communities of women who can empower one another through their healthcare choices. She is working to ensure that all women have access to the most effective forms of birth control – no matter where they live, how much they make or if they have insurance. She shares advice on finding the best birth control option for you at an affordable price.
