My kids used to be really picky. Thankfully, they aren't anymore, but we had several years of trying to find healthy snacks and ways to make sure they were getting all the nutrition they needed.
That problem is what fueled the creation of Luckybar. Creator Jamie Oberweger was trying to make snacks that her picky kid would like, but snacks that were still full of nutrition.
I had a chance to review these bars, and they were good. The bars are lower in sugar, carbs, fat, and sodium than many snacking options - plus, they have as much protein as two eggs, so they help keep kids full. The bars are gluten-free and contain no preservatives or artificial colors or flavors. My kids really liked the Chocolate Campfire flavor. They thought the Strawberry Sandcastles flavor was just ok, but they don't really like strawberries. I thought it was good.
The bars are currently available at Whole Foods and Walmart stores.
Jamie spent her career building and managing consumer packaged goods brands such as Mr. Coffee, Sunbeam, Oster and Coleman before she moved to manage the Industrial and Scientific side of Amazon.com. A few years later and ready to manage a traditional retail brand, Jamie joined Office Depot where she oversaw the Office Depot brand at the corporate level. She has a background in brand management, advertising and media. A mother of two boys, Jamie and her husband enjoy spending family time together including water sports, concerts and travel.
