Website Spotlight: The Supply Finder

Right now nationwide, shoppers are finding products out-of-stock and incidents of price-gouging as the coronavirus pandemic escalates. Online shoppers are constantly toggling back-and-forth between Amazon, Target, Walmart and many others. If lucky enough to find an essential in stock, they may be unaware if unscrupulous third-party sellers are charging irregular prices.
Boston-based tech company Popcart has created a site that aims to (1) let shoppers easily see what’s available right now across multiple retailers on one webpage, and (2) alert shoppers with warnings for high prices and suspicious sellers.
The site focuses on tracking availability and prices on the hardest to find items right now: toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, hand wash and sanitizer, and more. Popcart adapted the technology from the price comparison engine of their browser extension and applied it to the Supply Finder site.
The Popcart team built the Supply Finder after seeing countless cases of price gouging and sellers misrepresenting their products in the wake of the current health crisis. Given Popcart’s expertise, they thought they could help prevent misinformation and profiteering during this time of increased need and anxiety.
The Popcart Supply Finder is free and available here: https://www.thesupplyfinder.com

About Popcart
Popcart is a Boston-based tech company building tools to help shoppers compare prices and save money when shopping online. With Popcart's free Google Chrome browser extension you can compare prices (across key retailers like Amazon, Target, Walmart) on everything from everyday essentials to electronics to furniture to your favorite beauty brands. Popcart's powerful price comparison engine compares millions of variations in product sizes and packaging in seconds and tells you the best price. Popcart was founded in 2017 by Omri Traub and Ryan Stark.
(Note: it isn't always 100% accurate; when I checked for toilet paper, one of the two brands it said were in stock was listed as currently unavailable on Amazon, but most other things seemed accurate.)
