Music Minute: The Lucy Band - Paseo Lunar

When The Lucky Band returned from another whirlwind tour of China in January, the last thing on their minds was to get right back to work. But within days, Lucky Diaz was back writing songs, and testing out new and more soothing arrangements of some of The Lucky Band's songs. As he sang and played at home with his four-year-old daughter, the Los Angeles based artist realized that these homegrown songs might speak to the times.
As the world churned, all of their spring and summer shows were canceled and social isolation became the norm, Lucky and family started creating virtual concerts for fans, and they realized that families with young children were looking for music to provide joy and comfort in trying times.

The Lucky Band was the very first US-based artists to win a Latin GRAMMY in the Children’s Album category for their album Fantastico. In November 2019, they won a second Latin GRAMMY for their critically acclaimed album Buenos Diaz. Garnering six Emmy nominations and one win for their work on the show “Lishy Lou and Lucky Too,” husband and wife duo Lucky Diaz and Alisha Gaddis were named “THE face of kindie music” by the Washington Post, “Superstars” by national parenting site Red Tricycle, “The Rolling Stones of Kids Music” by the Style Network, and “The #1 in COOLEST kids music!” by People magazine. As Billboard advises, this is “children’s music you should know.” Their 2017 album, Made in LA, also received national acclaim and awards.

The Lucky Band is tentatively booking shows for this fall and into 2021. They will perform as part of the multi-artist Loog Fest virtual concert series.
